Happy Birthday, Sachin !!!

Today is 24th April, the Birthday of #GodOfCricket… A day when each & every Sachin Fan across the universe feels that it is his or her birthday. Actually, I have written a lot about Sachin Tendulkar & his achievements in Cricket. Also, many know about the same. So this Birthday trying to write something different well a Short write-up sort of thing.

On this special day, would like to share the 5 qualities of Sachin Tendulkar which strike me a lot & which we can adopt in our lives as well.

1. Love for your profession – Sachin Tendulkar played International Cricket for more than two decades, i.e. almost for 24 years. In modern-day sport to play for such a long time by maintaining your form & fitness is indeed an achievement. Why was Sachin able to do the same?? For me, it was his Love for the Game. If you Love Something you will give your best in that field always.

2. Discipline – This is one quality of Sachin worth adopting for everyone. The hours of practice under the able guidance of Ramakant Achrekar Sir who was known for his discipline helped Sachin immensely throughout his career. Time we get up, Time to go to bed, how punctual are we at our work all matter a lot in our success. If you read Sachin’s Autobiography #PlayingItMyWay you will get to know about his discipline & determination since he started playing cricket.

3. Commitment – From 1 Rupee Coin’s story during Achrekar Sir’s days to discussing his dismissal with his brother Ajit after his last test, that shows the commitment of the great man towards the game of Cricket. If you are committed to your profession at all times, you can definitely excel in that profession.

4. Never Give UP – Still, remember that dreaded midnight when India Lost to Sri Lanka in the 2007 World Cup. Tears were rolling down my cheeks when Sachin was dismissed by Dilhara Fernando as after Sachin’s dismissal it was almost confirmed that India will be knocked out of the World Cup. I still remember Sachin Tendulkar’s expression after India lost the match. Never I have seen him so disappointed. Like most of his fans even I was sure that it was Sachin’s last chance to win an ODI World Cup for India.

Sachin was almost 34 years & it was unlikely that he will maintain his fitness till the 2011 World Cup like his other teammates Sourav Ganguly & Rahul Dravid who were almost of his age. But Age was just a number for the Master Blaster. Sachin not only played in the 2011 World Cup but was an integral part of India’s winning campaign by being the highest run-getter for India in the Tournament & 2nd highest run-scorer in that Tournament. So, even at the age of 37 Sachin due to his attitude of never giving up maintained his fitness & form and helped India be World Champions.

5) Down to Earth – This is actually the quality due to which I absolutely adore him. Sachin has always kept his feet grounded even after achieving so much in the game. This is one quality that makes me his die-hard fan. Today’s young cricketers & professionals who are earning a lot in this modern age should adopt this quality because the way you behave after achieving success will define your true character.

So these are the 5 qualities due to which I admire this gentleman a lot. Once again Happy Birthday Sachin. Have a great life ahead.
