In the last few months, one specific HashTag #LocalToGlobal has appealed to me a lot. Being, into Social Media marketing I come across lots of Hash Tags but found this one a bit different. Being a proud Indian I want my India and my state to compete strongly at Global Level. If we provide a platform to our Local Manufacturers where they can sell their products globally, that will indeed be a big step in accomplishing the Mission of a Strong & Powerful India.
Looking at the advance of the Internet and Digital Marketing I feel that the “Local To Global” Mantra can indeed be a reality. With this purpose in mind, I & my friend have developed our Online Ecommerce Website which focuses on Selling Kokan Products. We sell products only from the Kokan region which is the coastal division of the state of Maharashtra ranging from Mumbai to Sawantwadi.
The main purpose of our Website is to give a platform to local manufactures of the Kokan region to sell their products all across India and in the future across the globe. Kokan region which is famous for its natural beauty is also home to various artists & handicrafts. Wooden Toys from the Sawantwadi area of Kokan are popular locally & can have a good demand overseas if they are marketed in a proper manner. Another Kokan specialty is “Shell Decor”. Shells found on the beaches of Kokan can be an excellent home decor & a must-buy for those who like the concept of ancient decor to their houses.
Bamboo Furniture is yet another Kokan specialty that deserves a global market. As we can see recently, a lot of Resorts, Homestays have adopted the idea of Bamboo Homes, Bamboo Chairs & so on. The reason being, the traditional, antique feel the bamboo generates. You can also have some bamboo furniture in your living space to experience that rustic, antique feel.
Kokan coast receives a good amount of rainfall & with its fertile soil supports a wide range of agricultural crops like rice, millet, cashew nut, betel nut, amla to name a few. There are plenty of local manufacturers in kokan who are engaged in the business of food products.
