Exploring Malabar Hill’s Elevated Nature Trail: A Hidden Wellness Spot in Mumbai

Last Friday was something different. My wife and I took a day off from work to explore the lesser-known gem in the heart of Mumbai: The Malabar Hill Nature Trail. The 9 AM slot was booked online, thanks to BMC for the online ticket booking facility. We reached Charni Road Railway Station at around 8:30 AM and took a Cab. After witnessing the class of Malabar Hill, the cab dropped us close to one of the entrances of Kamala Nehru Park, from where our wellness walk was about to begin.

At exactly 9 AM, the gates opened, and we stepped into a serene, green sanctuary. As soon as we entered the trail, the sound of chirping birds greeted us. Surrounded by lush greenery, the trail features a variety of trees, from Gulmohar to Banyan, creating a micro-forest experience. The best part was that we had booked a Friday, 9 AM slot, so the rush was minimal. Just 10–12 visitors were present, offering quiet smiles as we crossed paths.

The informative boards about birds and trees dotted the trail, making it not just a wellness walk but a nature education experience. Intermittent views of the Arabian Sea, the Mumbai skyline, and old buildings added charm to our walk. Everything was well-managed, and kudos to BMC for maintaining the space so beautifully.

Apart from clicking some photos, I even shot a small video giving information about the trail, and as always, I am making it viral on my YouTube & social media.

Malabar Hill nature trail – A haven for wellness enthusiasts

The Malabar Hill walkway is a hidden gem for wellness enthusiasts. The calmness around (if you are here on a working day) makes the experience much more memorable. For a wellness blogger like me who craves silence, I really enjoyed some quiet moments here.

The trail is just under 500 meters long—ideal for a light morning walk or meditation break. If you stay nearby, the trail could easily be a part of your weekly wellness ritual. As a wellness blogger, I truly appreciated the quietness and calm, something we deeply crave in the bustling city of Mumbai.

Much Needed Travel Tips

The experience was good, but I feel that if you are coming here after a couple of hours of traveling, you might need more. The Kamala Nehru Park, right next door, is great to explore—especially if you’re with kids. The Old Woman’s Shoe is still a hit, and children under 12 can climb up inside it.
